Tropica In Vitro Cryptocoryne undulata 'Broad Leaf'
100% sterile laboratory aquarium plants in sealed cups.
This red version of Cryptocoryne undulata occurs naturally in rivers in Sri Lanka. The plant is easy to care for and tolerates many different conditions in the aquarium.
- Their appearance depends in part on these conditions.
Low light and nutrient levels in the aquarium cause the plant to grow relatively tall, green-brown in color, and with slow growth.
More light and nutrients, combined with additional CO2, cause the plant to grow considerably faster with shorter leaves in a reddish-brown color.
- Scientific name:
- Cryptocoryne undulata 'Broad Leaf'
- Height: approx. 10–25 cm
- Placement: Midground, depending on the size of the tank also transitioning to the background
- Growth form: rosette-like, clump-forming
- Leaves: broad, slightly wavy, green to olive-brown, sometimes with reddish hues
- Growth: slow to medium
- Light requirements: low to medium
- CO₂ requirement: not strictly necessary, but stronger growth with CO₂ and nutrient substrate.
- Substrate: nutrient-rich soil or sand/gravel with root fertilizer/fertilizer pellets
- Difficulty level: easy to medium – robust with stable water parameters
