Light, porous and striking: Black lava creates strong contrasts in aquariums and at the same time offers plenty of surface area for beneficial biofilms.

The volcanic rock is generally pH and KH neutral, plant and shrimp friendly, and ideal for Iwagumi, Ryuboku or mixed layouts.

The open structure is perfect for attaching mosses and epiphytes.

Application & Tips

1. Rinse thoroughly before use (stone dust).
2. Lay out the layout dry, set a guide stone, mix sizes, leave negative space.
3. If necessary, apply adhesive dots and conceal joints with lava grit/stone flour.
